My Praise Is Based on a True Story

by Brian A. Bingham

There’s something different about praise when it’s personal. It hits harder, runs deeper, and carries weight—not because it’s loud or public, but because it’s rooted in real experience. That’s why I say boldly: My praise is based on a true story.

This isn’t a fairy tale or a feel-good moment manufactured for social media. No, this praise is the product of something that actually happened—something that shook me, shaped me, and showed me who God truly is.

It Happened.

Life has a way of throwing us into places we didn’t ask for—seasons of loss, pressure, transition, waiting, or even silence. But when I say, “It happened,” I’m not just talking about the storm. I’m talking about the encounter that changed me in the middle of it.

Maybe you’ve been there too—crying out for help, feeling invisible, hanging on by a thread. And then suddenly, you realize: God didn’t leave you. You didn’t just survive that moment—you were held through it.

It Revealed My Source.

The power of a true story is that it exposes the truth. And when things got real, I found out who my source really was.

It wasn’t my degree.
It wasn’t my connections.
It wasn’t even my strength.

My source was God—Jehovah-Jireh, the One who provides. Not just with money or resources, but with peace in chaos, clarity in confusion, and hope in hopelessness. When everything else got stripped away, He was still there. That’s why I can lift my hands and say: This praise isn’t hype. It’s history.

It Resulted in My Survival.

Let’s be honest—some of us didn’t think we’d make it. Some of us were ready to quit, give up, or disappear. But we didn’t. We’re still here.

That’s survival.
That’s grace.
That’s the evidence of God’s hand on your life.

And if you’re reading this, that same survival is your testimony too. You’re not just here by accident—you were preserved for a purpose.

So when you see me praising, don’t think it’s random. Know this:

My praise is based on a TRUE story.
Because it happened.
Because it revealed my source.
And because it resulted in my survival.
